
Tyler Helmond’s practice focuses on appellate advocacy, criminal defense, employment, and collateral issues involving arrests and convictions, including expungement, forfeiture, and licensing. He is a member of theĀ National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Seventh Circuit Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, and the Indianapolis Bar Association. His work has been published in The Champion, the journal of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and he has appeared as a commentator in publications including The Indiana Lawyer and Ars Technica.
Helmond has argued cases before the Indiana Court of Appeals and the Indiana Supreme Court. He serves as an associate faculty memberĀ at Indiana University, and has presented on continuing legal education at the Indianapolis Bar Association and the Judicial Conference of Indiana. He also serves as the Vice Chair of the Indianapolis Bar Association Appellate Practice Executive Committee.
